How This Hobby Got Started
When my son turned one, I knew I wanted to make his birthday cake because my mom made my cakes when I was little. Since being a "Cookie Artist" at Cookie Bouquet was the most favorite job I've ever had, it seemed like the natural thing to do. I had a lot of fun researching designs and buying tools and ingredients and when it was all said and done, I managed to turn out a pretty cute alligator cake for his Bayou themed party.
I really enjoyed it; so when his 2nd birthday came around, was excited for the chance to test my baking skills again. After a while, that "once-a-year" thing turned into family requesting cakes for special events. Shortly thereafter, I had old friends from high school messaging me on facebook and asking if I would do the honor of making a cake for their little one's first birthday. I have grown to love it so much that I jump at the chance to make friend's and family member's special days a little sweeter with a specialty cake.
